COVID-19 Update 3/20/20

Hello Falls Lake Families.

We made it through our first week of Remote Learning!
Falls Lake Academy’s first priority is the health and wellness of our families. We have heard your feedback this week and understand the pressures families are feeling. Many of your concerns are about the health and financial stability of your families, and education is not at the top of your list. We get it! We want to be a support for you. We have made some adjustments for grading for these first two weeks as we work out the kinks of this new system of learning. Elementary and Middle school students will receive feedback on their work, but no numerical grades will be posted in Jupiter YET. We are still working on the logistics of online learning and understand that everyone is still adjusting. High school students will continue to receive grades as usual through our first two weeks. Keep in mind that things change rapidly, so as this adjusts, we will let you know.

Third-quarter report cards will be available electronically by Wednesday, March 24th at the latest. We will notify you via Jupiter message when those are final. If your child is still needing volunteer hours, the ACIM is in great need of help, or you can always make cards for the elderly in nursing/retirement homes. If you need more ideas, let me know.
Please remember that Falls Lake has food pantry items available for all families that would like to benefit from this opportunity. Please contact your grade level counselor for pick up options.

Many decisions are currently being made at the state level regarding EC services, Graduation, End of Year testing, etc. As soon as those decisions are made, I will communicate them with you all.
Most importantly, stay well!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Hobgood
