UPDATED COVID 19 NEWS

This is Mrs. Hobgood with an important update following Governor Cooper’s announcement regarding the reopening of schools.

Families should have received an email on Monday with information regarding PAA and track assignments for Plan B, the 50% capacity option. If you did not receive this message, please check your junk or spam folder or email Mrs. Doerfler (elizabethdoerfler@fallslakeacademy.com) to receive it. Every effort was made to ensure siblings and carpool groups were kept on the same track.

Also, per Governor Cooper’s announcement, families will have the option to choose Plan C, which is full remote instruction. Should you choose Plan C with us, you will still remain enrolled at FLA. This choice will NOT affect your status at FLA.

In order to plan for a safe and effective return to learning, it is crucial that we have accurate numbers to arrange staff appropriately. Below you will find a link to a google form. This form is an intent form where you will COMMIT to a learning plan option for the entire first semester. It is important to note that the commitment is from August 17th, our first day of school until the end of winter break. Because offering multiple plans for families requires strategic staffing, we will not permit families to switch back and forth between plans B and C during the first semester.

The admin team and staff have been working since March to ensure a safe return for FLA families. We understand and respect the concerns of everyone, and we will be following the guidelines set forth by DHHS and outlined by the Governor.

We know that you have many questions and we are working to get information to you as quickly as possible. Please be on the lookout for continued emails over the next few weeks.
Again, please fill out your family’s intent for returning in the fall. You will need to fill out an intent form for EACH child. Please complete this by Monday, July 20, 2020. A link to this form will also be placed on our website.

As always, thank you for being amazingly supportive during this uncertain time.
Kindly,
Mrs. Hobgood
